Water Shortage in The Republic of Yemen
The presentation was done by Omar Abdulla Al Shehhi (S950003331) in class F 11 and it was presented on Wednesday 09th Jan, 2013 around 03:30 pm.
His topic was about Water Shortage in the Republic of Yemen; it was a good one but not interesting. In my opinion, I prefer to write about the Water and Electricity Consumption of the UAE. The topic wasn’t convincing me that much but I was so attracted to the pictures of his PowerPoint slides and those pictures weren’t organized as they should be but he chose the right pictures to present.
The explanation of the topic was average but when I interfered with questions he answered them and explained it clearly so the whole class could get the idea clearer. He told us a lot of unrelated information about Yemen but it was interesting and I didn’t know those details about Yemen before.
I think he was quite good at presenting the topic by using his own communication skills and understanding his own research by trying to figure it out and solve the problem of Yemen, but it was not creative because he mentioned that the UAE tried to send a yearly donation to solve it but there were not any improvements.
The PowerPoint Presentation slide background, visuals & animations overall were good enough; he could add better and organize it more as I stated in the second paragraph. Overall, Omar’s presentation had a lack of information about the water shortage in Yemen; he covered only one important point but he was not able to deliver it to the audience.
Finally, I think in future he should develop his skills to present and prepare himself for the presentation with clear goals and points because in the presentation he mentioned a lot of irrelevant information about the topic which misled us in the class.

The presentation was done by:
Ahmed Al hamed
ID number: H00059269
Venue: F11
Date: 19-11-2012
Time: 15:23
The topic: trip to
Switzerland
Ahmed told as about his trip
to Switzerland in 2007. The introduction was very good and Ahmed explained all
the photos he took by himself when he was there. Ahmed’s English was quite good
and everybody understood his words and his way of explaining. Ahmed presented
his presentation and he got everybody attention.
His PowerPoint was very good
and used easy words. There were too many photos I don’t liked but photos were OK.
Ahmed has a problem when student ask him questions present his presentation.
Ahmed found very good information about the country the people and restaurant.
In my opinion I am planning to
visit Switzerland because I see very nice places and Ahmed advised all of as to
visit this country and show as very nice photos. I think his presentation was
good and his PowerPoint slides were attractive.

Mr.
Omar Al Shehhi / Chairman.
Attendees: -
Mr. Khaled Al Menhali /
Secretary.
Mr. Omar Abdul Naser / Member.
Mr. Mansoor Noor / Member.
Mr.
Ali Al Hammadi / Member.
2:30

I would
like to introduce the group names & their titles. My name is Omar Al Shehhi
as Chairman, Mr.
Khaled Al Menhali as Secretary, Mr. Omar Abdul Naser, Mr. Mansoor Noor and Mr.
Ali Al Hammadi as participants.
The subject
to be discussed in the meeting below is the reason why the population doesn’t
like to stay out of the city center:-
1.
Most Government departments & others are in the city
center.
2.
Shortage of public transportation outside city.
3.
Shortage of malls, parks, colleges etc outside city.
4.
Infrastructure
outside the city.
5.
Suggestions to motivate people to move outside the city.
1.
Most Government departments & others are in the
city center.
It has
been noted that most government departments in Abu Dhabi are located in the
city center; in addition working time for the employees is similar; this timing
situation leads to congested traffic on the road.
We
suggest either changing the time or moving some of these departments outside
the city center.
2.
Shortage of public transportation outside the city.
We found,
after experiments done by the department of transportation, the public prefer
using their own cars.
Mr. Omar Abdul Naser suggested to avoid these issues
to start with government departments inside the city to force their employees
to use public transportation at the beginning then to implement for other private
& semi-government departments which he thinks may work smoothly.
_____________________________________________________________________________________
3.
Shortage of malls, parks, colleges etc outside the city.
Mr.
Mansoor Noor strongly agreed with this point since he is staying outside Abu
Dhabi city & notices that we need more focus on the above requirements.
_____________________________________________________________________________________
4.
Infrastructure outside the city.
Mr. Ali
Al Hammadi disagreed with this point by noticing most of the outside cities are
fully completed cities.
_____________________________________________________________________________________
5.
Suggestions to motivate people to move outside the
city.
Mr.
Khaled Al Menhali suggested:-
·
Move some government departments outside the city.
·
Force, by adding new laws, large & medium
departments to build offices next door to resident buildings.
Mr. Omar
Al Shehhi suggested:-
·
Abu Dhabi needs a metro like Dubai which will reduce
a lot of traffic.
·
Stop issuing new driving licenses & more control
by Ministry of Interior with proper channels.

Ø
Suggestions to motivate
people to move outside the city.
Move some government departments outside the city; force, by
adding new laws, large & medium departments to build offices next door to
resident buildings.
In conclusion we thought that:
1. Abu Dhabi needs a metro as Dubai which will reduce a lot of traffic; stop issuing new driving licenses & more control by Ministry of Interior with proper channels.
2. Move some government departments to outside the city; force by adding new laws, large & medium departments to build offices next door to resident buildings.
3. Force the people to use the public transportation by managing it with the government departments and the private companies.
4. Add more
activity outside city to attract all categories of the population.
5. Add more
health care.
The meeting was well controlled by Omar Al Shehhi
and Omar Abdul Naser. All members contributed to the discussion.

5. Suggestions to
motivate people to move outside the city.
We choose the subject
about concentration of population of in Abu Dhabi city
center because there are not too many services out suit Abu Dhabi.,
also most of the government departments
are inside the city center so here is a lot
of people and too much traffic inside the city center
My opinion about the meeting was:
1-
I
agree most government departments are inside the city center but they have to build
for the employees and students outside are city center.
2-
There
is a shortage of pick-up areas and they should build picking up areas every 10
meters for example to help the people to reached there destination.
3-
Nowadays
the government the to build for us a shopping malls but still we need more and
its not enough.
4-
There
is not enough health centers or hospitals outside the city center and there is
poor service.
